Dalam rangka memeriahkan Hari Jadi Kota Samarinda ke-344 dan Ulang Tahun Pemkot Samarinda ke-52, Bubuhan Speedsolvers Samarinda mempersembahkan sebuah kompetisi Rubik resmi bertaraf internasional bertajuk Borneo Championship 2012.

Borneo Championship 2012 adalah kompetisi Rubik’s Cube resmi yang dinaungi oleh WCA (World Cube Association). Kompetisi ini merupakan kompetisi internasional dengan target peserta se-Kalimantan, namun kompetisi ini tetap terbuka bagi siapapun yang berada di luar Kalimantan. Seluruh peserta harus mengerti dan memahami tentang Regulasi WCA. Regulasi WCA secara ringkas dapat dilihat di halaman Rules.

Borneo Championship 2012 akan mengadakan 17 kategori resmi dari World Cube Association dan 1 kategori untuk Pemula.
Biaya pendaftaran untuk semua event adalah Rp 100.000,- (FREE Welcome Bag & Certificate)

Event ini diperuntukkan bagi anak-anak sekolah yang belum pernah mengikuti kompetisi resmi WCA sama sekali. Puzzle yang diperlombakan khusus Rubik’s Cube berukuran 3x3x3 saja.

Persyaratan :

    • Usia Maksimum 17 tahun
    • Belum pernah mengikuti kompetisi resmi WCA
    • Bisa menyelesaikan Rubik 3x3x3 dengan maksimal waktu 5 menit
    • Membawa Rubik milik sendiri
    • Membawa Kartu Pelajar pada saat registrasi ulang
Bagi kalian yang memenuhi persyaratan di atas, bisa langsung mendaftar di halaman Registration
Pembayaran bisa dilakukan di tempat pertandingan (On The Spot).
Seluruh peserta akan mendapatkan WCA ID, karena event ini dilaksanakan bersamaan dengan Event Rubik’s Cube 1st Round kelas Reguler.

Norwegian Rubik's Cube Championship 2012

Introduction

The Norwegian Rubik's Cube Championship will be held at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. This is a casual event and the only requirement for participating is that you solve one of the puzzles in the competition. There is no registration fee.

When, where, how

When: 18-19 February 2012.

Where: R2, The building of natural sciences (Realfagbygget), Gløshaugen campus, Trondheim, Norway.Maps and directions.


How: For international guests, you can get to Trondheim airport (TRD) from Oslo airport (OSL) with Norwegian, which is probably the cheapest option. Some international carriers offer flights directly to Værnes, most notably KLM from Amsterdam.

To get from the airport to the city, Værnesekspressen is decidedly the best option. Then, getting off at "Gløshaugen Syd" should land you pretty much right outside the venue.

*We will try to keep to this schedule, but the actual starting times might differ slightly from the tentative ones. However, the first round of 3x3x3 will not start earlier than announced. In addition to the events already mentioned, it will also be possible to participate in 6x6x6, 7x7x7, 5x5x5BLD and 4x4x4BLD In that case, this would happen in R4 at any time, and you would have to find your own judge.

Prizes

Our sponsors will provide prizes, and there will be nice prizes to the winners and lucky draws. The prizes will be announced later.

Regulations

This will be an official WCA event, so we are subject to the WCA regulations. All competitors are requested to make themselves familiar with the relevant sections before the competition.

Note that competitors will be called on to scramble and judge for each other. So even if you don't plan on breaking any rules, make sure you know them well, so you can spot and penalize infractions should they occur.

**Saturday Night Peppes Pizza

After the competitions saturday night, we will walk down to have pizza in the city centre. If you want to join in on this, you should preregister for that by following the google spreadsheet link at the bottom of this page (you will have to pay about 120NOK for the pizza, and then you can eat as much as you want).

All participants preregistered before January 10th 2012, have got an email asking them to fill in this form. If you haven't answered it before, just follow the link. It will take you about 45 seconds to fill it out, and it will help us a lot.

Accommodation

For participants traveling from out of town, Trondheim hostel might be an option for a place to stay. Also, if you prefer a piece of the floor in a student housing room, you can contact the organisation committee, and we will accomodate you with a smile (as long as there's space left).

This competition is recognized as an official World Cube Association competition. Therefore, all competitors should be familiar with the WCA regulations. If you are new to competing, you may want to look at CubingUSA's Competitor Tutorial.

The Colorado Springs 2012 Rubik's Cube Tournament is organized by the Mile High Speedcubing group and hosted by Fountain Valley School of Colorado. This webpage is built in order to serve as a way for competitors to pre-register so we can arrange schedules, etc.
-Registration is open to people from all countries of all ages.
-Registrants agree with the application of the WCA regulations when participating.
-Registration is possible until the competition begins. If you plan on attending, please register. If can't show up after you have registered, please simply contact us stating your name and zip code.
-Registration form contains the events that will occur. Additional events may be added depending on time.
We will only use your data from the form for the Colorado Springs 2012 competition and future competitions in Colorado. We will not distribute your data to other persons or companies (including, marketing and any merchant services companies).
During the competition, the official WCA regulations will be applied. Results of the competition will be added to the official WCA World Rankings. All puzzle brands may be used during the competition, as long as the puzzles comply to the WCA regulations.

Registration: Register before the close date, the cost is $10 for the first event, $2 for each additional event, capped at $20. Register after the close date, the cost is $15 for one event, $2 per additional event with no cap. The close date would be five days before the competition. $1 per competitor goes to the WCA.

Rubik's Cube Contest 2012

You CAN Do the Rubik's Cube Contest

Join the fun! All schools, after school, and other "Not for Profit" community youth organizations in the Greater Washington DC area including (including Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia) serving ages K-12 can participate.

The Tournament will consist of teams of eight students in grades K-12 plus a teacher/coach, divided into 3 divisions as follows:
  • Div 1 - Elementary Grades K-5;
  • Div 2 - Middle School Grades 6-8;
  • Div 3 - High School Grades 9-12.
The teams will be competing to collectively solve 25 Rubik's Cubes.

Rubiks kids

All teams will compete in one Preliminary Tournament which will be held in two locations: Fort Belvoir Army Base, VA on Tuesday, April 10 and at the National Electronics Museum in Baltimore MD on Wednesday, April 25 or Thursday, April 26, 2012. The top six teams in each division will advance to the Grand Final to be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, as part of the USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo. The Final will be followed by the Awards Ceremony.


Register Today - it's free to register and you have plenty of time to get a team together - Individual team member names are not due until 30 days prior to the event. To register, each team must designate a teacher/coach who is over 21 years of age and will be the team contact.
